The Alcohol-Free, Plant-Based Beverages Revolutionising the Non-Alcoholic Drinking Experience
Lošinj Hotels & Villas is delighted to announce an exclusive collaboration with the multi-award-winning Jukes Cordialities, bringing a fresh taste of non-alcoholic beverages to the “healing island” of Lošinj, Croatia. The owner of Jukes, Matthew Jukes, has been a professional wine taster and writer for almost 40 years. Matthew is thrilled that Lošinj Hotels & Villas will be the first Croatian properties to offer his delectable beverages.
Jukes Cordialities was born out of Matthew’s disappointment at not finding a sophisticated, alcohol-free drink to be enjoyed in place of a glass of wine or cocktail – so he decided to make his own. Matthew researched recipes across the centuries and discovered one for Haymaker’s Punch from the 17th century, where farmers would use leftover fruits and vegetables, adding vinegar as a preservative, to create a cordial. Matthew spent two years designing and blending Jukes 1 – The Classic White, Jukes 6 – The Dark Red, and Jukes 8 – The Rosé – a deliciously modern twist on a recipe that is more than 300 years old.
Matthew’s efforts have been continually celebrated, most recently at the World Alcohol Free Awards 2025 where Jukes was named Producer of the Year 2025 as well as Jukes 6 being awarded “Best Organic Drink 2025” and Jukes Sparkling Gold receiving the title of “Best Halal Drink 2025”. This is a true testament to the incredible work Matthew and his team have achieved as the World Alcohol Free Awards involves 24 expert judges tasting over 580 alcohol-free beverages over a dozen times and deciding the best of the best.

The trend and demand for non-alcoholic alternatives have grown significantly over the past few years, as is the desire to have alternatives that are not too sweet or full of sugar and juice. A survey by The Portman’s Group and YouGov found that 38% of UK drinkers now consume low and no-alcohol alternatives semi-regularly, an increase from 35% in 2023 to 29% in 2022. Young adults drive this trend, with 46% of 25-34-year-olds considering themselves either occasional or regular alcohol-alternative drinkers, compared to 37% in 2023, and 40% of 18-24-year-olds drink the products semi-regularly. This trend has also been reflected in the travel industry among experts, as TTG stated that 80% of agents told the publication that they think the industry could be more accommodating to non-drinkers.
Jukes Cordialities are produced using a proprietary cold maceration technique, employing apple cider vinegar with vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices and flowers. These organic and halal-accredited alcohol-free alternatives have fewer than 17 calories per glass, are 100% plant-based, and are produced with the utmost respect for the health of their consumers and that of our planet.
